The Project for

Earning and Caring

(PC&E)

The Project for Earning and Caring (PC&E) is an association dedicated to study, outreach, and advocacy focused on alternative ways of combining

wage earning and caregiving in the U.S.

 

PC&E MISSON

To document, promote, and imagine a wide range of wage earning and care giving personal choices, family forms, along with organizational and social policies in the U.S.

PC&E GOALS

1. Gather stories, attitudes, opinions, and best practices for earning and caring from individuals and families not traditionally a part of work-life conversations.

2. Share information about new ways for combining caring and earning with media outlets, support groups, web-based communities, and scholars of work-life.

3. Find ways to connect individuals and familes living out innovative ways of successfully caring and earning with their peers, the media, and policy makers.

CURRENT RESEARCH PROJECT

 Investigating At-Home Fathers and Breadwinning Mothers

PC&E is currently investigating the negotiation of gender in the lives of at-home fathers and breadwinning mothers in diverse families across the U.S.
